References between controlled elements

References between controlled elements

Martin Lehmann suggested the new attributes signalBoxOcpRef and stationOcpRef to be introduced in the element switch. The element signal already has these attributes.

Volker discussed the deeper understanding of linking between controlled elements.

see http://www.railml.org/forum/ro/index.php?group=1&id=50

Unfortunately the discussion ends open without satisfactory conclusion.

Heidrun Jost mentioned to introduce a solution for the problem with next release 2.1 at last meeting in Innsbruck.

There will be an element defining e. g. interlockings on a high level.

All "controlled elements" (e. g. signal, switch, axle counter) will reference to their associated controller via a new attribute "controllerRef". Additionally, all controlled elements will reference to their associated station via an ocpStationRef attribute.

      Hint: De-referencing from

      • IL-->Element-->ocpStationRef-->ocp may intentionally differ from
      • IL-->Element-->Track-->(trackGroup)-->ocp

The element contains id, name and (possibly) a type.

Handling of locally controlled areas (de: "Nahbedienbereiche"): The trackGroup-instance grouping all locally controlled elements needs new attributes controllerRef (refering to the controller in local operation mode when the central interlocking hands over responsibility) and ocpStationRef.

Constraint: IF (the ocp already refers to a trackGroup) AND (ocpStationRef for locallyControlledArea is set) THEN both references must be identical.

The separate ocpStationRef-attribute for locally controlled areas allows assigning such an area to an OCP without grouping all tracks for an OCP (normal tracks and locally controlled tracks).

      Implementation hint:

A new basic type for controlled elements is to be introduced. This basic type contains the controller references. All existing "controlled elements" (e. g. signals, ...) will be derived from this new basic type.

Remark: existing attributes like e. g. signalBoxRef needs to be adapted / removed.

(In [396]) implementing new element 'eControllers' of type 'tController' for modelling controllers, e.g. interlockings

referencing on a controller element is possible via new attribute 'controllerRef' in new optional attribute group 'aOcpRef' that is attached to all controlled elements:

      • switches and switchCrossings in 'tCommonSwitchAndCrossing'
      • locallyControlledArea (where attribute 'ocpRef' is marked as DEPRECATED)
      • levelCrossing
      • signal (where attributes 'stationOcpRef' and 'signalBoxOcpRef' are marked as DEPRECATED)
      • trainDetector
      • trackCircuitBorder

      closes #102 (closed)
